As a professional tattoo artist , I have spent the last 20 years working closely with clients to bring their visions to life.

As a predominantly portrait focused artist , I strive to find a balance between representing my subject accurately - and representing myself through my work.

In my recent work I have begun to explore the connections I share with the subjects I paint - and explore those themes in a way that defines the work.

Themes such as Music, Tattoos and Mental health have brought me so close to so many people through my job - and these are often the people I choose to paint. People I connect with. People I understand and people I share something in common with.

My current body of work “Aspects” is currently being curated for exhibition at Emerald Gallery in buckinghamshire , and focuses on the above themes to create a cohesive body of work that explores my connections to the subjects of the exhibition.

Tattoos are a running theme through my portfolio, and my career as a tattoo artist has affected my art in many ways. From the aspects of prolonged focus and patience that form the basis of my tattoo work, to the expression through colour and form that are constantly developing - to me tattoo art and traditional media art go hand in hand to develop each other and push me forwards to new and exciting work.

“I paint to express myself, and through that expression I hope to communicate to the viewer a sense of who I am and what drives me to create.”
